Sanjaya Malakar’s book Dancing to the Music in My Head: Memoirs of the People’s Idol will be released on January 20, along with an EP for download on Amazon.com called… Dancing to the Music In My Head! Yay!

During Sanjaya Malakar’s appearance in Mohegan Sun last August, he sang “A Guy Like Me” and “A Quintessential Lullaby”.

Sanjaya will be at Book Revue in Huntington, Long Island on January 24 at 7 p.m to sign his book.

Skipping seasons like this before releasing anything of course always results in poor sales (unless you win an Academy Award), but as true fans we are very excited for Sanjaya. He will always be our Teen Pop Sensation… and now apparently he is the “People’s Idol”. Go People! Go Sanjaya Malakar! Go Fanjayas!

My parents, little sisters, and a bunch of my friends were able to come and celebrate! I sang ALTNOY and Crush, and there were some other really neat acts there. My friends, The Osmonds 2nd Generation who were also performing earlier, got a hold of me and invited me to do it. I thought it was a really fun way to celebrate while at home, and I was sooo happy to have my friends and family there with me. We had a blast! Ashley Tisdale was also there hosting. We danced like idiots, and I got some good exercise out of it.

So I checked my Facebook page and there’s more than 50 100 birthday greetings over there. Woah! I’ve never had that many people greet me on my birthday before. That’s kinda life changing. Thanks guys. Makes me very happy to have survived another year. I didn’t realize that so many people were thinking about me.

I don’t really have any plans today, but I will watch Billy Elliot the Musical this Wednesday — matinee — so I can be home for the American Idol 7 viewing marathon.

Okay, time to do the happy birthday dance… Happy Birthday to ya! Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday to ya! Woohoo!
