Bob Barker, the original host of “The Price is Right” gameshow, has died. He was 99.
His publicist released this statement on Saturday:
“It is with profound sadness that we announce that the World’s Greatest MC who ever lived, Bob Barker has left us.”
Bob Barker started hosting “The Price is Right” in 1972. He retired in 2007. That’s 35 years doing one job. Amazing.
Previous to that he hosted “Truth or Consequences” for 18 years.
It’s always a sad time when someone dies, no matter what age, but Bob Barker truly had a great run.
He was also an animal rights activist and ended the show with these lines:
“This is Bob Barker, reminding you: Help control the pet population. Have your pet spayed or neutered.”
