Jimmy Carter, who served as the 39th president of the United States, has died. He was 100 years old.
Carter died at his home in Plains, Georgia where he had been in hospice care since February 2023. He was diagnosed with melanoma in 2015 which had metastasized to his brain and liver.
Carter celebrated his 100th birthday last October 1. His family said at the time, that the former President wanted to live long enough to cast his vote for the Democratic presidential nominee, Kamala Harris.
