Former Super Smash Bros. pro Nairo (real name: Nairoby Quezada) shared a video today on YouTube announcing that a “legal agreement” has been reached surrounding the inappropriate sexual allegations against him. He said: “I can now move forward with my life.”
In June 2020, former fellow Smash player Zack “CaptainZack” Lauth accused Nairo of having a sexual relationship with him when he was a minor. Lauth added that Nairo gave him money to cover it up. This led to Nairo getting permanently banned from Twitch.
In October 2020 - five months later - Nairo finally responded, claiming Lauth’s allegations as false. At that time, he said he finally had legal representation and was seeing a therapist.
I’m glad that this controversy is somehow resolved for the Smash community but obviously some questions remain as these “legal agreements” are kept secret. But if Nairo says he can move forward, it means this was a net positive result for him.
He is still banned on Twitch. He said he had sent Twitch an appeal.
