Rafael Nadal defeated Casper Rudd 6-3, 6-3, 6-0 at Roland-Garros 2022 on Sunday.
This is his 14th French Open title and extends his total Grand Slam men’s singles titles to a record 22. Amazing.
Nadal beat Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals a few days ago, and he leads Djokovic by two titles in the total Grand Slam titles race. I think this should put to rest the “asterisks” people who think Nadal didn’t earn his record because Djokovic did not play in the Australian Open this year. The Nadal-Federer-Djokovic rivalry is still on of course, but right now, Nadal is the undisputed king of tennis.
