What remained of the former Trump Plaza casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey was finally demolished at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
The implosion happened seven years after the casino closed and is a symbolic end to Donald Trump’s mark on the city. The Trump Plaza casino opened in May 1984 but by 1991, Trump had filed for bankruptcy - the first of five financial restructures of his casinos in the area. (via NJ)

The Trump Plaza closed in 2014 and soon after Trump Entertainment Resorts filed for Chapter 11. In 2016, Ichan Enterprise took over ownership of Trump Plaza.
When it closed, Trump Plaza was the worst-performing casino in Atlantic City history.
